About The Breed

The French Bulldog is a small breed of domestic dog. "Frenchies" were the result in the 1800s of a cross between bulldog ancestors imported from England and local ratters in Paris.

In 2014, they were the fourth most popular registered dog in the United Kingdom and in the U.S. the ninth most popular AKC registered dog breed.

The French Bulldog has a unique appearance, from their large, upright ears and wrinkled faces to their short, sturdy and muscular body. They have a short coat and flat face with lots of wrinkles. They are intelligent, adaptable and affectionate dogs that want to be by your side at all times. They are adorable, often referred to as 'frog dogs', jesters', or Velcro dogs'; traits unique to their breed. Because of their lovability and even disposition, they make great apartment and office dogs.
They do love a good short walk, playtime and attention but prefer to be cuddled up on a lap or next to their human. They can overheat, so be mindful of the outside temperature, not to hot and not to cold.

If you are willing to give them the attention and interaction, they will be the best companion you have ever had.
